Seasonal Walleye Tactics

🌱 Spring (Ice-out – June)

May walleyes shallow rock 4-12 ft, jig + minnow.

☀️ Summer (June – August)

Walleyes 18-28 ft on deep rock humps, jig + crawler vertical. Smallmouth shallow rock 8-16 ft, tubes and ned rigs. Muskie on weed edges.

🍂 Fall (September – Ice-up)

October walleyes on the deepest holes 28-38 ft, slow live-bait rig.

🧊 Winter (Ice fishing)

Ice walleyes hit mid-lake humps and break edges 18-28 ft.

Regulations: Iowa walleye limit 3 daily, 15-inch minimum. Muskie 40-inch minimum.
Local tip: Clear water. Light line, natural colors. Smallmouth action is underrated here.
