Lake Layout & Key Structure
Mostly flat basin with subtle rises, scattered rock reefs, and the Fox River corridor connecting to Butte des Morts and Poygan. Wind drives everything.
Seasonal Walleye Tactics
Walleyes run up the Fox River — pre-spawn and post-spawn produce limits. Three-way rigs and jig + plastic in the river. On the lake, drift the rocky reefs in 8–14 ft.
Walleyes school over the basin in 14–20 ft. Crawler harnesses behind bottom bouncers cover water. White bass stack on humps — small jigs and spoons.
Walleyes feed up shallow on the windswept rock reefs. Crank or jig.
Sturgeon spearing season is the show — but ice walleye, perch, and white bass fishing in 12–20 ft is excellent. Resort plows make miles of basin accessible.
