32 named bays. Big Island in the center splits the lake. Mid-lake humps + flats hold walleye; cabbage edges hold muskie; docks hold bass. Crystal Bay and Wayzata Bay are the most popular launches.

Seasonal Walleye Tactics

🌱 Spring (Ice-out – June)

Bass post-spawn shallow 3-8 ft on protected bays, plastic worms and jigs.

☀️ Summer (June – August)

Bass on weed edges 8-14 ft. Topwater early, jigworms midday. Muskies in cabbage beds 10-16 ft, big bucktails and rubber. Bluegills shallow off docks all summer.

🍂 Fall (September – Ice-up)

Late season muskies in basin 22-30 ft, big suckers on quick-strike rigs.

🧊 Winter (Ice fishing)

Ice walleyes hit mid-lake humps and break edges 18-28 ft.

Regulations: Standard MN inland regs. Designated muskie lake — minimum 54 inches, one daily.
Local tip: Heavy boat traffic. Best fishing weekdays or sunrise. Park your boat, fish from anchor on Big Island.
