Gull Lake is the centerpiece of the Brainerd Lakes Area — 9,947 acres, 82 feet deep, clear water, and one of the most heavily-fished lakes in MN. Despite the pressure, it consistently produces strong walleye, big bass, and sleeper muskies thanks to active management.

Lake Layout & Key Structure

Seasonal Walleye Tactics
Walleyes on the gravel points and weed flats in 6–12 ft. Crappies move into Gull Narrows shallows.
Walleyes go deep — 22–32 ft on Government Bar and the offshore humps. Crawler harnesses are the local favorite. Muskies cruise the cabbage edges in Hole-in-the-Day Bay.
Walleyes return to the shallow rocks at night. Stickbaits trolled along the points after dark. Trophy muskie bite on big suckers.
Walleyes in 22–32 ft on the offshore humps. Tullibees provide forage all winter. Crappies suspend in basin holes 35–50 ft.
